As Leander Class frigates were stuffed full of asbestos, (who remembers asbestos string?) there may now be crew members going down with asbestos related diseases. A useful (but American) site on the subject can be found here: Mesothelioma Cancer Center It has particular reference to US Navy veterans but is probably also applicable to the RN.
